Our job is to supply energy. It's an important job, and we do it with great pride. To meet the growing needs of customers today, Heartland offers a diversified power supply portfolio. This means if we experience a power outage at one of our sources, we have alternative resources to ensure the continuation of service at a reasonable price.

Part of our energy is generated at the Missouri Basin Power Project near Wheatland, Wyoming. This resource consists of the Laramie River Station, on of the lowest cost, environmentally friendly coal-fired generating stations in the nation, and the Grayrocks Dam and Reservoir on the lower Laramie River.

We also have other relationships with key industry suppliers that allow us to buy and sell surplus energy at wholesale prices.

Our power is delivered over the Integrated Transmission System, which is owned by Western Area Power Administration, Basin Electric and Heartland. It covers a seven state area and consists of over 8,500 miles of lines.
