Heartland recognizes the growing concerns regarding the impacts of climate change and believes our industry must take a leadership role in implementing policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It is clear that climate change is a global problem requiring global solutions guided by sound science, objective engineering and the best economic information. At the federal level, the solutions must be comprehensive and recognize all sources of greenhouse gases. Actions by utilities to promote energy efficiency will be a key part of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Heartland Policy Statement of it's Goals and Energy Efficiency Porgram represent Heartland's firm commitment to protect and enhance the environment while providing safe, reliable and reasonably priced energy.
