In order for your community to grow, you must be proactive.  Heartland is here to help you attract new businesses to your city and encourage existing businesses to expand.  Heartland’s Growth Incentive Program is designed to help stimulate community growth by awarding utility rebates for new and expanding businesses and up-front capital for jobs created.

Key Qualifying Components
>>Eligible businesses must be located in a city served by Heartland.
>>Rebates on electric power bills are given for three years for all load growth in any month Heartland realizes a corresponding load growth.
>>Cash incentives for jobs created are based on certain criteria including wage requirements and a minimum number of new positions based on city population.  Qualifying employees must reside within a 10-mile radius of the city.

Who's Eligible?
New and expanding businesses* in Heartland's customer communities.  The businesses must have a minimum monthly electric bill of $100 to qualify.

Program Success
To date Heartland has issued more than $411,000 in electric rebates and hiring incentives and the program is directly linked to the creation of 147 new jobs for over 70 companies.

*At this time the program is targeted towards new businesses and the expansion of existing businesses, but other areas of growth may be considered at a later date.  These incentives are not available to any Heartland Customer that acquires the qualifying business from another Heartland Customer.
